A Book Rec brought to you by @feifei_le #18

Readers love to share about books they’re reading. We asked readers to recommend a book they enjoyed which most of their friends had not read. We’ll be sharing what we learned and hopefully you’ll find a new book to read. I know my TBR list will be growing as we get introduced to all these books.

Today Feifei from Book Vigilante Reviews is sharing âžś Graceling by Kristin Cashore

So I haven’t read much of anything the last two years but there are times where I’m feeling nostalgic and think back to what really got me started on reading books and one book comes to mind: Graceling by Kristin Cashore. I’m picking this book as my one book to recommend to y’all because it was one of the very first books I picked up back in my high school years that wasn’t part of a required reading list, that I actually LOVED, and kickstarted years of voracious reading. It’s a YA fantasy standalone with a badass warrior heroine, a super charming hero, and though it’s a bit slow in the beginning, the writing is very beautiful and the slow burn will pick up fast as both the action and the romance in the story is well-intertwined. Other reasons:

– The story revolves around a time where certain people have a ‘Grace,’ sort of like some super ability that they’re born with and for my teen self it was neat to read about – TOTAL ESCAPISM!! There’s literally everything in this book: some romance, some thrilling and mysterious parts, some romance, a whole lot of heart and even if you don’t mean to, you care about these characters the more you read. – It’s a book palate cleanser: when I used to read a lot of romance and needed a genre change I would read this book again and it was a breath of fresh air. – The cover’s gorgeous. And there are two more standalone books that are just as fantastic when you’re done with this one

I really think it’s one of those books anyone would enjoy, and a book you’d recommend to those just getting started on reading too!
