THIS WAS BRILLIANT!!
WOW! WOW! WOW!
I’m overwhelmed with so many thoughts and feelings it’s hard to express them properly without giving anything away. When I finished this book at 1 am I spent the whole night tossing and turning because the brilliance of OUT OF TIME kept playing through my mind.
”The world was rotten and so was everybody in it.”
Gah, this was a true statement if I’ve ever one.
✻ In ‘Nine Minutes’ we learned about Ginny’s childhood and how neglectful her parents were in raising her but what we didn’t see was WHY they were so neglectful of their daughter. I’m not excusing her parents behavior but in this book the reader sees what events caused her parents to become the people we read about in book one.
✻ When it came to Grizz’s childhood we travel back to when he was a young boy in the ‘50s and the events that lead to him in the motel where in ‘Nine Minutes’ we learn about him.
✻ Last but not least, he’s my favorite since book one, is Grunt / Tommy. We get a glimpse into his childhood also and see what kind of conditions he had to endure. Overall the insight we gain from going back to the past was beneficial in rounding out the characters.

Really, who wouldn’t be under the conditions they were raised in. No one loved or cared for Grizz… let alone showed any compassion for him as a child. Being a heartless bastard was a result of the environment.
”Everybody had their demons.”
The revelations that are revealed left me speechless. We learned so much and our questions from book one are answered but this story isn’t over which leads to new questions and speculations. Just when I think I had something figured out I’d learned that not everything was as it seems.
”It had to be on information overload.”
All the information revealed about the characters, the situation, and the love stories had me grasping at straws because the minute I’d learn something I was jonesing for more.
”Both he and Grizz were guilty of letting her live her life based on secrets.”
‘Out of Time’ is Ginny’s discovery of the unknown. She spent her time living in a sheltered world. She knew bad stuff was happening but she stayed away from it. Staying oblivious to her surroundings was the key to her sanity during her time at the motel. Plus the two main guys in her life protected her from matters that were ugly and not necessary for her to experience.
I’ve been thinking about this book for days! When asked what’s the appeal was I shared how it reminded me of the Twilight allure. I’m not saying this is a Twilight fan fiction or that it even has a similar story because it DOESN’T. What I am saying is – here is a girl who is the center of two guys’ worlds. They’ll do anything and everything to protect her while vying for her love. What girl wouldn’t want to be the center of a man affection, let alone two of them? Both willing to sacrifice everything for her happiness and safety – HELL YEAH! Right there – that’s the appeal. Another reason I love escaping into fiction – being able to live vicariously through characters.
Let’s not forget the humor in this book. I laughed in several spots which I wasn’t expecting. The banter helped lighten the tone of this INTENSE book. If you read Nine Minutes and you were left wanting MORE than this is your MORE.
Overall this quote summed the book up for me: PEOPLE IN LOVE ARE WILLING TO DO DESPERATE THINGS. It’s the essences of the story!!! And yes, there’s another book coming out in 2016 and I know to EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED while reading that one.

Out of Time is book two in a series. It is not a standalone novel. I highly recommend that you read my first novel, Nine Minutes, to be able to understand the background stories of the main characters. There are many twists and turns in both stories that can best be connected if read consecutively.
Although I do answer all of the outstanding questions from Nine Minutes, there is more to this story, and some readers may consider it a cliffhanger. If you do not like cliffhangers, you may want to wait until the third novel is released in 2016.
