Dirty Confessions – Book Tag [@theVrsha @potteralda @MyEverAfters]

Hi! Amy here! I’m using Vrsha’s banner because I’m not good at making banners AND Vrsha’s rocks.

I was tagged by the beautiful and talented, Vrsha, in her original book tag.  She wasn’t kidding when she said this book tag is not for the faint of heart.

WHAT’S DIRTY CONFESSION?
This is simply a quiz where bloggers will be given some questions and they should answers HONEST! You can also use a gif/a meme to sum up your feels about the book. Please remember this is a FUN tag and you may agree or disagree with  my picks and that’s okay because this is my PERSONAL opinion.
One thing to keep in mind- “No two persons ever read the same book.” ~Edmund Wilson

1. Name one of the author whom you admired but her one book was a huge disappointment.

Linda Howard.  Love her work but there was a book that fell flat for me: KISS AND TELL.  I couldn’t believe it since her other books are some of my favorites. I’d totally recommend reading,  CRY NO MORE .  It was excellent and a top book by her.  If you want more recommendation on books by her leave me a comment.  Since this author has been writing books for a long time I find most of her books and audios at my local library.

2. Name one sequel which made you want to bang your head.

Back in the day I read a ton of John Grisham and loved his books.  Then a few years ago I gave his book called, PLAYING FOR PIZZA, a try and I was so disappointed.

Maybe it was because it wasn’t his normal lawyer suspense books. But either way  it was a flop for me.

3. Name one author which works wonders for the other except for you.

Well, to be fair I’ve only read one book by this author and the writing was good but the execution of story just didn’t work for me.  ON THE JELLICOE ROAD.  All my friends loved that book.  Back in 2012 I had just finished reading THE SEA OF TRANQUILITY and the author of that book was on Goodreads chatting with fans.  I asked her what author and book did she love and would recommend.  She mentioned ON THE JELLICOE ROAD so I gave it a go.  It was great fun reading it with a bunch of people who were fans of the book but I was the odd man out since it didn’t work for me.

4. Name one book that all your friends loved except for you.

All my friends loved FANGIRL by Rainbow Rowell. I read ELEANOR & PARK by this author a year prior to reading this one. I really wanted to love it like everyone else but I was beyond bored reading it.
I’d recommend ELEANOR & PARK … it’s won some awards too.

5. Name one blockbuster book which you can’t understand why it’s a blockbuster.

I read this book so many years ago but I remember the anger it brought out in me – NEW MOON by Stephanie Meyers.  Where the heck was Edward?! I was so mad reading it I wanted to throw it out the window.

6. Name the one book on earth that you would burn so that nobody ever read it because it’s the worse book ever written.
Hmmmm…tough question.  This question makes me think of a book I promised my eldest daughter I would read – FAHRENHEIT 451.  I haven’t read it yet but it was one of her favorite books she read in her sophomore English class.  I know the basic concept of the book – what would happen if we burned all the books? *yikes*  I don’t want to imagine a world like that!!  But if I had to burn a book to keep warm it would be my college text books, especially the math ones.

I tag…
