LITTLE BIG LIES centers around a group of kindergarten moms and an incident that reveals both big and little lies told by everyone.

Kindergarten is the foundation of learning. It’s where we learn the golden rules that will carry us through life.

Share everything.
Play fair.
Don’t hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don’t take things that aren’t yours.
Say you’re sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Take a nap every afternoon.

But those rules are lost when you get a bunch of overly eager moms together. Each mother thinking their child is an angel and would never do anything wrong turns into a nightmare to deal with. The conflict and strife created between these moms have them doing some nutty tactics.

“All conflict can be traced back to someone’s feelings getting hurt, don’t you think?”

The incident that takes place at a school function happens right away in the book. The story takes us back prior to the event so we can grasp a deeper understanding what lead to this tragedy.

There are 3 main kindergarten moms who the story centers around:
➜ A remarried mom, Madeline, whose daughter from her first marriage is a teen and wanting to live with her dad. Madeline’s ex is remarried and his daughter from his new marriage is in class with Madeline’s youngest child.
➜ A well to do mom, Celeste, with twin boys. Celeste appears to have the ideal life; twins, rich husband, a luxurious lifestyle. But behind closed doors, she lives a life of abuse.
➜ A young single mom, Jane, who has one child, Ziggy. He’s the new to the area kid and his story is what ties all these moms together.

Since I listened to the audio it took me my awhile to figure out all the characters. I’d hear a name here or there and wonder if I should be paying attention to that person or not. Once I figured out who to focus on the story became easier for me to follow. I really enjoyed listening to the narrator’s accent. The way she said certain words sounded much better than the way I say them. *lol*
