Review: SLOW DANCE IN PURGATORY

SLOW DANCE IN PURGATORY
by Amy Harmon

Foxy’s Review:

★ ★ ★ ★

Slow Dance in Purgatory begins in 1958 with Johnny preparing to fight some boys from school. While things are heating up between the boys a scene happens that leaves no witnesses to testify to how a boy ends up dead and another ends up missing. Johnny is that missing boy who is now stuck in purgatory, which happens to be his highschool were he was killed.

In present day, Maggie is the new girl at the highschool. She begins to “see” Johnny in the hallways and their relationship gets underway when Maggie comes to the school on her off hours to dance in the studio. Johnny is able to manipulate the things connected to the school and plays certain songs to communicate his presence to her.

I enjoyed listening to this book …it’s one of Ms. Harmon’s first books published back in 2012. The story has the same beautiful writing that Amy Harmon fans are accustomed to. What caught my eye about this book was the cover because it’s GORGEOUS!! The stunning cover and the compelling story makes for another Amy Harmon winner.
