If anyone ever said being an adult was easy, they hadn’t been one long enough.

Diana Casillas can admit it: she doesn’t know what the hell she’s doing half the time. How she’s made it through the last two years of her life without killing anyone is nothing short of a miracle. Being a grown-up wasn’t supposed to be so hard.

With a new house, two little boys she inherited the most painful possible way, a giant dog, a job she usually loves, more than enough family, and friends, she has almost everything she could ever ask for.

Except for a boyfriend.

Or a husband.

But who needs either one of those?

Okay, I had heard from a friend that this book was just so/so. I was a little bummed after hearing that but figured I needed to read it for myself to see. Fortunately, for me, this book hooked me right from the start. I really loved it.

The heroine is raising her 2 nephews by herself. She has recently moved into a nice quiet neighborhood. Except for one night when she meets the neighbor across the street. This happens when she is awoken by her young nephew who hears fighting outside his bedroom window. She checks it out and finds he is right. There’s a man being beaten up so she jumps into action and breaks it up. When she drags him into his house this is where she meets the brother of this guy. I’ll stop here to not spoil the fun on who the hero ends up being and what kind of character he is.

I mean if that doesn’t catch your attention I don’t know what will. Plus, her nephews are so adorable. The banter between the three of them is fun.
