This week I’m jumping back to 2013. My friend, KC from Pretty Words Book Blog, suggested that we read In The Stillness together.  We were lucky enough to have a few more women join us on this journey.  I knew right away when I opened the book and read Do I even f*cking exist? that this was going to be an emotional book.  I’m so thankful I had the support of friends while reading this one because there was a lot of *hand holding* that happened.

A mother struggling with her role as a mom, wife and woman is a very relate-able subject.  In some ways every female can sympathize with these endeavors.

“Change never comes slowly, brewing on the horizon. It’s always in a second. Balanced on the rip of a razor blade, in empty pill bottles, behind two pink lines, or learning that one of your children is slowly slipping into a world of silence.”

On May 5, 2013, I read In The Stillness by Andrea Randall.  This book was thought provoking and made me run the gamut of emotions.  I personally love books that make you “feel.”

WOW! I haven’t cried over a book like that for a long time. This one ‘cut’ me deep.

Natalie thinks she is in control of her pain, anxiety, and fear by cutting to release the hurt she feels inside. It’s her living nightmare.

Without recapping the book…I will say that Marion summed up the book best, “That’s one of the most beautiful stories I’ve heard in a long time.”
