A Book Rec brought to you by @MyEverAfters #14

Readers love to share about books they’re reading. We asked readers to recommend a book they enjoyed which most of their friends had not read. We’ll be sharing what we learned and hopefully you’ll find a new book to read. I know my TBR list will be growing as we get introduced to all these books.

Today Geri from Dirty Girl Romance is sharing ➜ JUST THE WAY YOU ARE by Barbara Freethy

Oh gosh. This book has every trope that I love and hate.

Tropes I love –> unrequited love –> marriage in peril/trouble
Tropes I hate –> Love triangle

I should have hated this book but the combination of these three tropes gave me some of the most delicious, ulcer-inducing angst in my life. I’m not even kidding. Despite that, this book is one of my go-to reads when I’m in a funk. And yes, I cry every single time. No regrets whatsoever.

Anyhoo, what I really loved about this book aside from the angsty plot are the characters. The main heroine is flawed. She started off as the “villain” in the story. Sort of. Depending on which perspective you want to listen to, which again, one of the reasons why this book is great. You can look at the heroine’s perspective and feel for her. But on the other hand, you look at things through her sister’s perspective and you can also understand why she felt that way. Same for the hero.

I won’t spoil anything but you guys, need to read this book. I know a lot of you here love angst and unrequited love, so I highly recommend this book.
