There is a good reason for it- the fans demanded it. The request for MORE of this couples story lead to another sexy, heartfelt love story for us who loved Mateo & Vera. Unlike in the first book, Love, in English, where Vera tells us the story this one is told from Mateo’s pov. No fear, for those who don’t like retellings of previous books because this one is NOT that but instead an extension of their story. For those who read book one you know this couple’s struggle is a painful one with many challenges.“Do you think we will ever get a happily ever after?” -VeraI’m not going to lie, this book puts Vera and Mateo through the ringer. The scandal of their relationship, from book one, is still making headlines and messing up things in their personal and professional lives. Loneliness and, at times, isolation plagues this couple. Vera’s stubbornness and free-spirit puts a damper on Mateo’s life. Yet, Mateo remains passionate and devoted to her while managing the fires burning all around them as they battle to beat the odds.

I’m grateful that Mateo’s letter to Vera was included in this book. His letter addressed one scene in particular from the previous book. When I read that scene in the first book I wanted to chuck my kindle through the window but now that I have his pov I’ve come to terms with what happened in the past.

Karina Halle flawlessly delivers for her fans with this angst filled love story. One of the many qualities I love about Karina Halle’s writing style is she really knows how to pull out all kinds of “feels” from her readers. Another quality to her writing is the ability to make the reader feel like they are sitting in the movie theater watching the big screen.

I did try to convince him to let me pencil in a beard and mustache for him but he refused. He did point out that he is blonde so he wouldn’t work for the cover but never fear…black and white photos fix the hair color. LOL
