Readers love to share about books they’re reading. We asked readers to recommend a book they enjoyed which most of their friends had not read. We’ll be sharing what we learned and hopefully you’ll find a new book to read. I know my TBR list will be growing as we get introduced to all these books.
Today Bex from Night Owl Reader is sharing ➜ STAY UNTIL WE BREAK by Mercy Brown
I know that a couple of my friends loved this book as much as I have, but it only has 172 reviews on Goodreads.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the heroine in the first book, which almost kept me from reading this one (the second book in the Hub City series), but I’m so glad I gave it a chance!
It’s set in the 1990’s, which was a huge time for the indie rock genre, and follows a band on the cusp of making it big as they tour the east coast. There’s lots of chemistry between the main characters and it’s a fantastic friends-to-lovers romance. Mercy Brown was an indie musician during this time, so she draws on her own experiences and it really shows in the writing. I loved it when I really wanted to find a reason not to. (Doesn’t that sound horrible?)
