Review: The Revenge Pact by Ilsa Madden-Mills

(Kings of Football #1)

Ilsa Madden-Mills

#1 Book in the entire Amazon Store

#1 Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills delivers an all-new emotional and twisty enemies-to-lovers romance that blurs the lines between revenge and love…

River Tate is a god on campus.
The king of football.
A tattooed bad boy with gunmetal eyes that see right through you.
The only chink in his armor is HER, the girl he pretends doesn’t exist, the forbidden one with the shy smile and lavender hair.

Anastasia Bailey is a nobody.
The queen of nothing.
An outsider with the face of an angel and a body made for sin.
The only chink in her armor is HIM, her boyfriend’s frat brother, the football player who hates her.

But when Anastasia’s life comes crashing down, River’s the one who sweeps in and saves her.
Torn between loyalty, lies, and secrets, he battles the temptation to take everything from her when they make their revenge pact.

He can’t tell her no.
Because revenge (or love) is sweet, and once you get a taste, the craving never ends.

The Revenge Pact is an angsty college sports romance with a beautiful HEA. No cliffhanger.

Other interconnected standalone books in this series: The Romantic Pact by Meghan Quinn and The Relationship Pact by Adriana Locke.

I have to start off by saying I just finished binge-watching The Circle, season 2 and one of the people on there is named, River. So, every time I heard the name River (hero) in this book the image below is what popped into my head. *lol*

River is a football star and the president of his fraternity. When one of his brothers from the fraternity needs help winning the pretty girl in the library River is there to help. He tells him what to say in a note to her. Ana is that girl and when she gets the note she hopes the anonymous letter is actually from River but it turns out to be his frat brother.

While no love story comes without some angst this one has an extra dose of it. Ana is with the wrong guy. And even if River wanted to date her he can’t because she’s already in a committed relationship. Even if that relationship isn’t an ideal one – one major downfall is it’s controlled by the guy’s rich parents.

♦ lavender hair
♦ law school
♦ fraternity president
♦ enemies to lovers
♦ slow burn
♦ dual pov’s
♦ sports romance
♦ standalone

I’m not sure what this style of series is called but I really love the concept – 3 interconnected books written by 3 different authors. This is my first series like this but I hope to find more done in this format.
