A Book Rec brought to you by @RelentRomance #12

Readers love to share about books they’re reading. We asked readers to recommend a book they enjoyed which most of their friends had not read. We’ll be sharing what we learned and hopefully you’ll find a new book to read. I know my TBR list will be growing as we get introduced to all these books.

Today Eliza from Relentless Romance is sharing ➜ Something Wonderful by Judith McNaught

It’s hardly something to brag about, but there was once a time when you could not pay me to read a Historical Romance. I had the horrible misconceived notion they were stuffy and unrelatable. Luckily for me I had some friends to educate me on my misgivings.

Judith McNaught is an author whose name was repeatedly recommended and in the spirit of passing it forward, Something Wonderful (Sequels, #2) is my pick.

In a refreshing case of role reversal, Alexandra Lawrence our plucky young Heroine saves our Hero from a dicey plight. In doing so, inadvertently (innocently) compromises her reputation. The solution (of course) is for our Hero, Jordan Townsende Duke of Hawthorne, to marry her.

I was instantly taken with this story, and so much enjoyed all the angst and conflict that came with their marriage, as well as Alex being thrust into London society. It also didn’t hurt that Jordan is an emotional damaged Hero!

Synopsis:
Bestselling author Judith McNaught masterfully portrays a remarkable heroine, and an unforgettable passion, in this powerfully moving love story — one of her most beloved novels of all time!
The tempestuous marriage of Alexandra Lawrence, an innocent country girl, and Jordan Townsende, the rich and powerful Duke of Hawthorne, is about to face its ultimate test of tender loyalty. Swept into the endlessly fascinating world of London society, free-spirited Alexandra becomes ensnared in a tangled web of jealousy and revenge, stormy pride and overwhelming passion. But behind her husband’s cold, arrogant mask, there lives a tender, vital, sensual man…the man Alexandra married. Now, she will fight for his very life…and the rapturous bond they alone can share.

  1. I haven’t read this book. It sounds great. The only historical romance I read is The Bronze Horseman series and it rocked my world. I five starred it. One of my top reads. I need to read more of this genre and will check out this book. Thanks for sharing Eliza and Foxy.

    1. I haven’t read this author either but I know she’s SUPER popular. I plan to read something by her too.

Another historical romance author to try is Lisa Kleypas.

I read – TBH too. LOVED THAT BOOK!!! <3 You have great taste.

  2. I hope you both get to check it out soon, but I totally understand the bookworm struggle.

The Bronze Horseman is a rec I get time and time again, but have yet to read.

I love the Lisa Kleypas novels I’ve read. I would devour them all if I could! 🙂

    1. WHAT?!!! I didn’t realize you haven’t read TBH?
It’s a book you need to be in the mood for because it wrings you emotionally. It’s so good.
