THREE POINT FIVE STARS
I was roped into reading this one because our book club decided to read it since we saw Me Before You together. Both my mom and daughter had read it and liked it enough to think I should read it. From the very start, I was against reading it because, for me, I didn’t want to think about Louisa moving on in a relationship.
I heard the author wrote this in response to her fans wanting to know what happened to Louisa after the end of the prior book. I, personally, was fine leaving the last book where the author left it. I can’t say what After You was about because that would be a huge spoiler. All I can say is if you’re wondering where Louisa ended up after the last book then you should read this story.
Now about my star rating. Star ratings are hard because everyone has a different definition for what 3 stars means. I look at it like the grading system:
A is 5 stars (Excellent)
B is 4 stars (Great)
C is 3 stars (Average)
D is 2 stars (Below Average)
F is 1 star (Failed)
The story was above average for me. It was well-written with a twist that I didn’t see coming. Like I mentioned above, if you feel compelled to know what Louisa ended up doing with her life then you should pick up this book.
