Podcasts #5 for your listening pleasure

PODCASTS

Below are some podcasts that I’ve recently listened to:

1)

I came across this podcast via my library website.  On my local library site they have a place for patrons to submit reviews and I was reading one about the book How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind by Dana K. White.  I found the name to be catchy so I put the book on hold and checked to see if there were any podcast by this author.

There are currently 135 episodes.  The first 6 to 10 episodes are about how she got started in her journey.  I’ve started at the beginning and I’ve enjoyed hearing about the different things she has done to make it work in her and life.

Any cleaning or organizing advice you need Dana has probably covered it.  Here are some of the titles:
#74 – Moving and Decluttering

#84 – Decluttering Clothes – Getting Over the Hangups

#94 – Declutter by Selling on Faecbook

2)

Lizzie Post and Daniel Post Senning of the Emily Post Institute answer your questions about etiquette in the 21st century. With advice based on consideration, respect, and honesty, Awesome Etiquette guides listeners through everything from traditional etiquette quandaries to newly emerging issues in the modern world.”

Recently a friend asked me for my opinion on a dress to wear to her brother’s wedding.  She mentioned it was semi-formal and wasn’t sure if the dress was semi-formal.  I googled ‘semi-formal attire for wedding’ and an Emily Post definition came up.  Then I saw there was a podcast put out by the Emily Post Insititue.

Currently there are 152 episodes with most lasting around an hour.  Even though the title may say: “May I Offer You an Arm”  the episode goes through many different subjects.

Etiquette is ever evolving and changing with the times.  If you are curious what is the right thing to do in a situation listen to these and see what they have to say.

3)

Mike Rowe from the TV show Dirty Jobs has a podcast where he shares true stories about a real person, place, or thing.  They’re quick – like 10 minutes or so.  They’re fun to listen and don’t they’re a huge time commitment.

Well, that’s it for now.
