Before We Were Strangers

This book is so perfectly sweet.
I absolutely adored the way this book started, with a missed connection. I’ve always loved reading missed connection ads … something about them just makes me feel like there’s hope for love and second chances. I love second chance romances … this one was no exception.
Ms Carlino does a wonderful job of taking the reader back to witness the development of the sweet friends to lovers tale of Matt & Grace. Their playful banter and youthful optimism is authentic and fresh. Their re-connection also felt very realistic. Even though the twist in this book didn’t surprise me at all, I still appreciated the way that it was depicted.
Normally I’m not a big fan of books that are overly sweet. Perhaps I’m just jaded and cynical. But this book really worked for me. A great read for those who like young love and second chances.
*I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley.
