Ten former Debut Authors!
Do any of yours match mine?  Who’s your favorite debut author?

This was a real challenge for me because I realized all the authors I read as debut authors are no longer debut authors.  In the romance genre once an author writes a book  the fans start demanding more stories in the series. So, my Top Ten is a mix of former debut authors and current debut authors.

  1. Signal Bend series by Susan Fanetti.  I read Ms. Fanetti’s debut motorcycle series and fell in love.  She wrote a spin off series and that series, The Night Horde of SoCal,  blew me away. [Signal Bend series on Amazon] [The Night Horde of SoCal on Amazon]
  2. Nine Minutes by Beth Flynn.  I loved her first book. I read it over Thanksgiving last year and then this summer I read her second book in the series.  I loved it just as much and I’m currently waiting for the final book to be released. [The Nine Minute trilogy on Amazon]
  3. The Hook Up by Kristen Callihan.  I know she’s wasn’t a debut author when she wrote The Hook Up but it was her debut as a romance writer…prior to that she had written in the fantasy genre.  I love the Game On series. [Game On series on Amazon]
  4. Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan.  She’s another author that wrote in a different genre and then tried her hand in unfamiliar genre.  I read Undeniable in 2012 and have since read each book released in that series. [Undeniable series on Amazon]
  5. Addicted series by Krista & Becca Ritchie.  I love these ladies.  They are class act.  I loved their original series and their spinoff series, Calloway series.  Kiss the Sky in the Calloway series is by far my favorite books by them.  It’s was so good. [Krista & Becca’s books on Amazon] [Kiss the Sky is currently FREE]
  6. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins.  I’ve read the first two books and  I really enjoyed her second book, Lola and the Boy Next Door, even more than her first. [Anna and the French Kiss series on Amazon]
  7. Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi.  I loved her Shatter Me series and I’m looking forward to a new series by her. [Shatter Me series on Amazon]
THESE NEXT THREE ARE STILL DEBUT AUTHORS
  8. The Martian by Andy Weir.   I’m curious to see what he write next. [The Martian on Amazon]
  9. The Perks of Being of Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.   I actually didn’t read the book but I watched the movie and talked to a friend who has done both.  Sounds like the movie was just like the book.  I really want to read what Mr. Weir has to offer next. [The Perks of Being of Wallflowers on Amazon]
  10. The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay.  I love this book and I’ve been waiting 3 years for this author write another book.  Pretty please, Ms. Millay.  [The Sea of Tranquility on Amazon]

    1. It’s been 3 years since I’ve read TSOT…so I bought the audio and I’m listening to it now. I only have 3 hours left in the audio. I’m trying to make it last as long as possible. I’m going to miss Josh when it’s over. <3

    1. Ha ha!! Yes, you did make my never ending TBR list LONGER. 🙂 <3 I've heard great things about Mason List. I just put it on my amazon list. 🙂

      1. I didn’t want to read it on my kindle so i bought paperback on amazon and waited alomost 6 weeks to get it( i live in Europe near Italy) and i’m not sorry .I can say that Mason List is my book of the year.

        1. Wow!! book of the year!!
I love when we find a book that makes reading go from good to EPIC!!

Near Italy?! My dad visits there every few years. He loves it. 🙂

          1. Your dad visit Italy? Great i’m near by country-Slovenia..tell him to visit sometime..you can come too 😉

    1. Thanks!! <3
You haven't read TSOT?! I'm so shocked!!! Since it's been 3 years since I've read it...I just bought the audio and I'm listening to it on my nightly walks. 🙂

    1. My husband liked The Martian better than I did. Too much science for me.
We listened to the audio while we went on our nightly walk.
The Martian is in the movie theater right now. Came out in October. 🙂

  1. Great picks! I loved The Martian as well! I really need to check out Kristen Callihan’s contemporary romance books. I’ve only read her paranormal ones so far, but I love her stuff.

    1. I keep meaning to try Kristen’s paranormal series but I run out of time. But it seems like she’s popular in that genre. 🙂
I still need to see the movie – The Martian.

  2. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is one of the few instances where I will say that I liked the movie as much as I liked the book. I would love to read another Chbosky. He’s needs to get on the ball, lol.

  3. Ah, I didn’t enjoy Shatter Me. Although I stopped at the first book and most people have said it gets better so I may pick it up again in life haha. The Perks of Being a Wallflower was a wonderful book, I read it in high school and it became one of my favorites.

    Thanks for stopping by!

    1. I actually listened to Shatter Me. And I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what the scratching noise was. About half way through the listen it dawned on me…she was crossing stuff off. LOL

  4. Fun list! Yeah I had trouble with the whole debut author thing too. I tend to start reading authors once they have a few books under their belt. I have a few of these on my TBR, looks like I need to get reading! 🙂
