Goodwill Hunting #2

Goodwill Hunting is a weekly feature on Foxy Blogs.
I hope you enjoy this segment, and if you missed last week’s click here.

My addiction to second-hand books can take me on some fun, bookish adventures.

Come Goodwill Hunting with me!

This week’s adventure is ….

You paid how much for that?

A big part of what makes searching through piles of previously owned books so darn obsessive for me is the thrill of the bargain! I always feel like a winner when I know I’ve saved some money. Even better is the Goodwill store 50% off sales. They seem to do this about 4 times/year (once at the end of each season). There are 2 local Goodwill Book Stores … I always hit them up on sale days (and I’ll usually try one or two of the regular Goodwill stores on those days too).

On the most recent sale day I brought home a truckload:

And so, to answer the question posed by the title of this adventure … I paid a whopping $10 for all 5 of these titles … the hardcover brought the price up a bit … but I was still over-joyed at getting such a great deal.

Granted, this is not the best deal I’ve ever managed. But dang, those titles! A little bit of angst. A touch of the supernatural. Some steampunk. And a whole lot of goodness.

  1. I’ve wanted to read that series by Gail Carriger, but got put off by the price on Amazon. Maybe I should see what second hand book stores we have here in Australia? Thanks for sharing 🙂

    1. I really enjoyed the original series (Parasol Protectorate) … it’s paranormal sexy with a side of steampunk 😉 I haven’t read the book mentioned in this post yet (soon – I hope).
